The Manila Lions triumphed over the host Piggott Mohawks softball squad by a count of 17-8 in Monday's non-league challenge.

Next, the Lions meet the Newport Greyhounds (Newport, AR) in a 3A Region 3 challenge, on Tuesday, March 11. Manila will attempt to upgrade on its 1-0 season record. The Greyhounds enter the challenge with a 0-1 record after their 11-10 non-league loss to Pangburn (Pangburn, AR).

The Mohawks (0-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Rector (Rector, AR). The Cougars enter the 2A Region 3 challenge with a 1-0 record. In their last challenge, Rector overcame Bay (Bay, AR), 25-7, in a league challenge.
