Sequoyah Chiefs (Madisonville, TN) backers left the game pleased Monday as they saw their softball squad nudge the host Rhea County Golden Eagles (Evensville, TN), 11-7 in a non-league game.

With the triumph, Sequoyah upgrades its record to 3-0 on the year. The Chiefs travel to South-Doyle (Knoxville, TN) to play the Cherokees in a 3A District 5 game on Thursday, March 13. The Cherokees enter the game with a record of 2-2. South-Doyle lost 10-2 in their recent non-league game against Tennessee (Bristol, TN)

The Golden Eagles now own a 2-2 record. They play next when they host McMinn County for a 4A District 5 game on Tuesday, March 11. Rhea County will play a Cherokees squad coming off a 11-1 non-league loss to Heritage (Maryville, TN). The Cherokees record now stands at 1-4.
