Spectators at Friday's non-league battle between the Rio Rancho Rams (Rio Rancho, NM) and the host Mayfield Trojans (Las Cruces, NM), saw Rio Rancho's baseball squad knock off Mayfield by a count of 7-2.
Coming up next, the Rams play the Cheyenne Mountain Red-Tailed Hawks (Colorado Springs, CO) in a non-league battle, on Saturday, March 12. Rio Rancho will attempt to move on its 8-1 season record. The Red-Tailed Hawks enter the battle with a 2-0 record after their 11-7 non-league win over Organ Mountain (Las Cruces, NM).
The Trojans now possess a 4-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Gadsden for a 5A District 3 battle on Tuesday, March 15. Mayfield will play a Panthers squad coming off a 8-3 non-league win over Miyamura (Gallup, NM). The Panthers record now stands at 3-4.
