The Mount Vernon Mustangs (Atlanta, GA) baseball nipped the visiting Heritage Hawks (Newnan, GA), 2-1 in Saturday's non-league contest.

Coming up next, the Mustangs play the Whitefield Academy WolfPack (Mableton, GA) in a 1A D-I Area 6 contest, on Wednesday, March 15. Mount Vernon will attempt to better on its 3-1 season record. The WolfPack enter the contest with a 6-4 record after their 9-4 non-league loss to Campbell (Smyrna, GA).

The Hawks now sport a 2-5 record. They take the field next when they host Westfield School for a GIAA AAAA/AAA District 5 contest on Tuesday, March 14. Heritage will play a Hornets squad coming off a 18-8 non-league win over Pinewood Christian (Bellville, GA). The Hornets record now stands at 7-2.
