In Saturday's non-league contest, the Monterey Plainsmen (Lubbock, TX) softball team overwhelmed the visiting Antonian Prep Apaches (San Antonio, TX), by a margin of 7-0.

With the triumph, Monterey moves its record to 13-2 on the year. The Plainsmen host Abilene (Abilene, TX) to clash with the Eagles in a 5A Region I District 4 game on Thursday, March 16. The Eagles come into the game with a record of 17-3. Abilene won 8-1 in their recent league game against Cooper (Abilene, TX)

In their next game, the Apaches clash with the Southwest Dragons (San Antonio, TX) in a non-league game, on Monday, March 13. Antonian Prep will attempt to move on its 9-11 season record. The Dragons come into the game with a 11-10 record after their 11-1 league win over McCollum (San Antonio, TX).
