Atkins Red Devils (Atkins, AR) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Morrilton Devil Dogs (Morrilton, AR), 7-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Red Devils now own a 7-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Perryville for a 3A Region 5 challenge on Tuesday, March 12. Atkins will battle a Mustangs squad coming off a 12-0 non-league win over Jessieville (Jessieville, AR). The Mustangs record now stands at 4-1.

With the loss, Morrilton falls to 5-7 on the campaign. The Devil dogs host Lamar (Lamar, AR) to battle the Warriors in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 12. The Warriors enter the challenge with a record of 2-1. Lamar won 10-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Dardanelle (Dardanelle, AR)
