Spectators at Monday's non-league match between the Poth Pirates (Poth, TX) and the visiting La Vernia Bears (La Vernia, TX), witnessed Poth's softball squad tip La Vernia by a count of 10-7.

The Pirates now sport a 14-4 record. They play next when they host Cuero for a non-league match on Tuesday, March 12. Poth will face a Gobblers squad coming off a 4-3 league win over Victoria East (Victoria, TX). The Gobblers record now stands at 16-1.

With the loss, La Vernia moves to 11-11 on the season. The Bears travel to Gonzales (Gonzales, TX) to face the Apaches in a 4A Region IV District 28 match on Tuesday, March 12. The Apaches go into the match with a record of 12-4. Gonzales lost 14-4 in their recent non-league match against Steele (Cibolo, TX)
