Spectators at Monday's non-league match between the McKinley Panthers (Baton Rouge, LA) and the visiting North Central Hurricanes (Lebeau, LA), witnessed McKinley's softball squad tip North Central by a count of 8-6.

The Panthers now sport a 1-0 record. They play next when they travel to Broadmoor for a 4A District 6 match on Tuesday, March 12. McKinley will face a Buccaneers squad coming off a 10-9 non-league loss to Scotlandville (Baton Rouge, LA). The Buccaneers record now stands at 1-4.

With the loss, North Central moves to 0-1 on the season.
