Mountain View Spartans (Mountain View, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Menlo-Atherton Bears (Atherton, CA), 6-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 1-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to St. Ignatius College Preparatory for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 12. Mountain View will battle a Wildcats squad coming off a 9-2 non-league loss to Aragon (San Mateo, CA). The Wildcats record now stands at 2-3.

With the loss, Menlo-Atherton falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Bears host South San Francisco (South San Francisco, CA) to battle the Warriors in a Peninsula - Ocean challenge on Wednesday, March 13. The Warriors enter the challenge with a record of 0-3. South San Francisco lost 5-4 in their recent non-league challenge against Santa Clara (Santa Clara, CA)
