The Merryville Panthers softball team scored 17 runs and limited the visiting St. Louis Catholic Saints to 2 in the Panthers non-league triumph on Monday.

With the triumph, Merryville improves its record to 10-3 on the year. The Panthers host Gueydan (Gueydan, LA) to clash with the Bears in a 1A District 5 game on Thursday, March 14. The Bears come into the game with a record of 2-6. Gueydan lost 23-8 in their recent league game against Oberlin (Oberlin, LA)

In their next game, the Saints clash with the Westlake Rams (Westlake, LA) in a 3A District 3 game, on Thursday, March 14. St. Louis Catholic will attempt to improve on its 4-8 season record. The Rams come into the game with a 3-10 record after their 8-5 non-league loss to Lacassine (Lacassine, LA).
