The Vermilion Catholic Eagles nipped the visiting Alexandria Trojans baseball squad by a score of 2-1 in Tuesday's non-league outing.
Next up, the Eagles battle the Highland Baptist Christian Bears (New Iberia, LA) in a 1A District 6 outing, on Tuesday, March 11. Vermilion Catholic will attempt to advance on its 10-3 season record. The Bears come into the outing with a 6-10 record after their 20-0 league loss to Vermilion Catholic (Abbeville, LA).
The Trojans (9-8) will now prepare for their outing against West Monroe (West Monroe, LA). The Rebels enter the 5A District 2 battle with a 7-5 record. In their last battle, West Monroe was tipped by Northwood (Shreveport, LA), 8-5, in a non-league battle.
