The Independence Knights crushed the visiting Newman Smith Trojans baseball team by a count of 10-0 in Saturday's non-league bout.

The Knights now possess a 5-3 record. They take the field next when they host Centennial for a 5A Region II District 9 bout on Tuesday, March 15. Independence will face a Titans team coming off a 5-0 league win over Heritage (Frisco, TX). The Titans record now stands at 3-1.

Next, the Trojans face the White Longhorns (Dallas, TX) in a 5A Region II District 11 bout, on Tuesday, March 15. Newman Smith will attempt to move on its 2-11 season record.
