Farmington Scorpions (Farmington, NM) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Deming Wildcats (Deming, NM), 17-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Scorpions now own a 3-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to West Point for a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 17. Farmington will battle a Dragons squad coming off a 15-0 non-league win over La Joya Community (Avondale, AZ). The Dragons record now stands at 3-4.

With the loss, Deming falls to 4-3 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Las Cruces (Las Cruces, NM) to battle the Bulldawgs in a 5A District 3 challenge on Tuesday, March 15. The Bulldawgs enter the challenge with a record of 0-6. Las Cruces lost 16-4 in their recent non-league challenge against Belen (Belen, NM)
