In Tuesday's non-league game, the host Pope John Paul II Jaguars baseball team scored a tight 2-1 victory over the Covington Lions.
The Jaguars (8-6) will now prepare for their game against Lakeshore (Mandeville, LA). The go into the non-league game with a 3-10 record. In their last game, Lakeshore was edged by St. Thomas Aquinas (Hammond, LA), 3-2, in a non-league game.
The Lions (11-5) will now prepare for their game against Catholic of Pointe Coupee (New Roads, LA). The Hornets go into the non-league game with a 5-10 record.
