St. Joseph-Ogden Spartans (St. Joseph, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Salt Fork Storm (Sidell, IL), 6-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Normal West for a non-league challenge on Monday, March 18. St. Joseph-Ogden will battle a Wildcats squad coming off a 13-1 non-league loss to Whitney Young (Chicago, IL). The Wildcats record now stands at 1-1.

With the loss, Salt Fork falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Storm travel to Blue Ridge (Farmer City, IL) to battle the Knights in a non-league challenge on Friday, March 15. The Knights enter the challenge with a record of 1-0. Blue Ridge won 4-3 in their recent non-league challenge against Donovan (Donovan, IL)
