With the triumph, Goldsboro improves its record to 1-1 on the year. The Cougars host Beddingfield (Wilson, NC) to face the Bruins in a Neuse Six 2A contest on Tuesday, March 18. The Bruins enter the contest with a record of 1-3.

The Spartans now hold a 0-6 record. They play next when they travel to Hunt for a Quad County 3A contest on Friday, March 14. Smithfield-Selma will face a Warriors squad coming off a 14-4 non-league loss to Nash Central (Rocky Mount, NC). The Warriors record now stands at 1-5.
