Weddington Warriors (Matthews, NC) supporters left the game thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Hough Huskies (Cornelius, NC), 3-0 in a non-league game.

With the triumph, Weddington improves its record to 7-0 on the year. The Warriors travel to Piedmont (Monroe, NC) to face the Panthers in a non-league game on Friday, March 14. The Panthers enter the game with a record of 6-1. Piedmont won 9-4 in their recent non-league game against South Stanly (Norwood, NC)

The Huskies now hold a 4-1 record. They play next when they travel to Chambers for a Queen City 3A/4A game on Thursday, March 13. Hough will face a Cougars squad coming off a 30-9 league win over West Mecklenburg (Charlotte, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 3-0.
