In Monday's non-league game, the host Thomas Jefferson Gryphons baseball team scored a tight 3-2 victory over the Piedmont Community Charter Patriots.
The Gryphons (2-2) will now prepare for their game against East Gaston (Mt. Holly, NC). The Warriors go into the Southern Piedmont 1A/2A game with a 4-0 record. In their last game, East Gaston tipped Bessemer City (Bessemer City, NC), 9-3, in a league game.
The Patriots (2-3) will now prepare for their game against Langtree Charter (Mooresville, NC). The Lions go into the non-league game with a 1-4 record. In their last game, Langtree Charter was edged by North Stokes (Danbury, NC), 20-7, in a non-league game.
