Spectators at Monday's non-league match between the Mooreville Troopers (Mooreville, MS) and the visiting Independence Eagles (Thompson's Station, TN), witnessed Mooreville's softball squad tip Independence by a count of 6-3.

The Troopers now sport a 2-3 record. They play next when they travel to Austin for a non-league match on Tuesday, March 14. Mooreville will face a Black Bears squad coming off a 6-2 non-league loss to Walker Valley (Cleveland, TN). The Black Bears record now stands at 5-11.

With the loss, Independence moves to 0-1 on the season. The Eagles host Westminster Christian (Huntsville, AL) to face the Wildcats in a non-league match on Monday, March 13. The Wildcats go into the match with a record of 0-1. Westminster Christian lost 6-0 in their recent non-league match against Madison County (Gurley, AL)
