The Chalmette Owls softball team scored 16 runs and limited the visiting Albany Hornets to 1 in the Owls non-league triumph on Wednesday.

With the triumph, Chalmette improves its record to 9-5 on the year. The Owls travel to Academy of Our Lady (Marrero, LA) to clash with the Penguins in a non-league game on Monday, March 18. The Penguins come into the game with a record of 11-6. Academy of Our Lady lost 7-0 in their recent non-league game against Archbishop Chapelle (Metairie, LA)

In their next game, the Hornets clash with the Sumner Cowboys (Kentwood, LA) in a 3A District 7 game, on Thursday, March 14. Albany will attempt to improve on its 6-7 season record. The Cowboys come into the game with a 9-4 record after their 19-0 league win over Bogalusa (Bogalusa, LA).
