Franklin Lions (Franklin, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Crawford Pirates (Crawford, TX), 9-8 in a non-league challenge.

The Lions now own a 20-1 record. They take the field next when they host Groesbeck for a 3A Region III District 20 challenge on Thursday, March 14. Franklin will battle a Goats squad coming off a 8-7 league loss to Buffalo (Buffalo, TX). The Goats record now stands at 5-4.

With the loss, Crawford falls to 4-2 on the campaign.
