University School of Jackson Bruins (Jackson, TN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Karns Beavers (Knoxville, TN), 6-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Bruins now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Dyersburg for a non-league challenge on Monday, March 18. University School of Jackson will battle a Trojans squad coming off a 5-0 non-league win over Halls (Halls, TN). The Trojans record now stands at 2-0.

With the loss, Karns falls to 3-2 on the campaign. The Beavers host Powell (Powell, TN) to battle the Panthers in a 4A District 3 challenge on Tuesday, March 19. The Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 2-1. Powell won 8-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Arlington (Arlington, TN)
