Fans at Thursday's league contest between the San Marcos Royals (Santa Barbara, CA) and the host Rio Mesa Spartans (Oxnard, CA), observed San Marcos's volleyball team top Rio Mesa by a count of 3-0.

The Royals (6-6) will now prepare for their contest against Santa Barbara (Santa Barbara, CA). The Dons enter the Channel contest with a 6-0 record. In their last contest, Santa Barbara defeated St. Francis (La Canada, CA), 2-1, in a non-league bout.

With the loss, Rio Mesa drops to 6-8 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Pacifica (Oxnard, CA) to clash with the Tritons in a Channel bout on Tuesday, March 18. The Tritons come into the bout with a record of 1-4. Pacifica lost 3-1 in their recent league bout against Buena (Ventura, CA)
