The New Iberia Yellowjackets softball squad (New Iberia, LA), 7-5 in Thursday's league contest with the host Barbe Buccaneers (Lake Charles, LA)

With the triumph, Barbe improves its record to 8-4 on the year. The Buccaneers host Mt. Carmel (New Orleans, LA) to face the Cubs in a non-league contest on Saturday, March 15. The Cubs enter the contest with a record of 8-1.

The Yellowjackets now hold a 3-7 record. They play next when they host Carencro for a 5A District 3 contest on Tuesday, March 18. New Iberia will face a Bears squad coming off a 20-0 league loss to Lafayette (Lafayette, LA). The Bears record now stands at 1-4.
