The Cloudland Highlanders softball team scored 10 runs and limited the host Mitchell Mountaineers to 1 in the Highlanders non-league triumph on Monday.

With the triumph, Cloudland moves its record to 1-0 on the year. The Highlanders travel to West Ridge (Blountville, TN) to clash with the Wolves in a non-league game on Tuesday, March 15. The Wolves come into the game with a record of 0-1. West Ridge lost 10-1 in their recent league game against Dobyns-Bennett (Kingsport, TN)

In their next game, the Mountaineers clash with the Madison Patriots (Marshall, NC) in a Western Highlands 1A/2A game, on Friday, March 18. Mitchell will attempt to move on its 0-3 season record. The Patriots come into the game with a 1-3 record after their 3-2 non-league win over Smoky Mountain (Sylva, NC).
