Independence Patriots (Charlotte, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Hopewell Titans (Huntersville, NC), 21-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Patriots now own a 4-1 record. They take the field next when they host Charlotte Catholic for a Southwestern 4A challenge on Tuesday, March 15. Independence will face a Cougars squad coming off a 21-3 league win over East Mecklenburg (Charlotte, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 4-3.

With the loss, Hopewell falls to 0-4 on the campaign. The Titans host West Charlotte (Charlotte, NC) to face the Lions in a Queen City 3A/4A challenge on Tuesday, March 15. The Lions enter the challenge with a record of 2-2. West Charlotte won 27-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Garinger (Charlotte, NC)
