The crowd at Tuesday's non-league match between the Topsail Pirates (Hampstead, NC) and the visiting South Brunswick Cougars (Southport, NC), saw Topsail's softball squad nip South Brunswick by a count of 13-11.

The Pirates now sport a 3-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to North Brunswick for a match on Tuesday, March 21. Topsail will face a Scorpions squad coming off a 7-5 non-league loss to Laney (Wilmington, NC). The Scorpions record now stands at 2-1.

With the loss, South Brunswick falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Cougars host New Hanover (Wilmington, NC) to face the Wildcats in a non-league match on Friday, March 17. The Wildcats enter the match with a record of 0-2. New Hanover lost 23-3 in their recent non-league match against North Brunswick (Leland, NC)
