Hernando Tigers (Hernando, MS) fans exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Hancock Hawks (Kiln, MS), 2-0 in a non-league challenge.
The Tigers now sport a 12-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Horn Lake for a 6A Region 2 challenge on Tuesday, March 21. Hernando will face a Eagles squad coming off a 22-8 non-league loss to Lake Cormorant (Lake Cormorant, MS). The Eagles record now stands at 0-2.
With the loss, Hancock falls to 9-2 on the campaign. The Hawks host Gulfport (Gulfport, MS) to face the Admirals in a 6A Region 8 challenge on Tuesday, March 21. The Admirals enter the challenge with a record of 3-3.
