The Kaplan Pirates softball team scored 15 runs and limited the visiting Abbeville Wildcats to 0 in the Pirates league triumph on Thursday.

With the triumph, Kaplan moves its record to 17-2 on the year. The Pirates host Opelousas Catholic (Opelousas, LA) to clash with the Vikings in a non-league game on Monday, March 18. The Vikings come into the game with a record of 14-4.

In their next game, the Wildcats clash with the Gueydan Bears (Gueydan, LA) in a non-league game, on Saturday, March 16. Abbeville will attempt to move on its 5-6 season record. The Bears come into the game with a 2-7 record after their 16-0 league loss to Merryville (Merryville, LA).
