The Clayton Comets softball team scored 10 runs and limited the host South Johnston Trojans to 7 in the Comets non-league triumph on Thursday.

With the triumph, Clayton improves its record to 5-1 on the year. The Comets host South Garner (Garner, NC) to clash with the Titans in a Greater Neuse River 4A game on Friday, March 15. The Titans come into the game with a record of 5-1. South Garner won 8-7 in their recent non-league game against Jordan (Durham, NC)

In their next game, the Trojans clash with the Fike Demons (Wilson, NC) in a Quad County 3A game, on Friday, March 15. South Johnston will attempt to improve on its 3-1 season record. The Demons come into the game with a 2-4 record after their 16-0 league loss to West Johnston (Benson, NC).
