The Topsail Pirates softball team scored 6 runs and limited the host Croatan Cougars to 1 in the Pirates non-league triumph on Thursday.

With the triumph, Topsail improves its record to 5-0 on the year. The Pirates host New Hanover (Wilmington, NC) to clash with the Wildcats in a Mideastern 3A/4A game on Friday, March 15. The Wildcats come into the game with a record of 0-3. New Hanover lost 16-0 in their recent league game against South Brunswick (Southport, NC)

In their next game, the Cougars clash with the East Carteret Mariners (Beaufort, NC) in a non-league game, on Thursday, March 21. Croatan will attempt to improve on its 3-3 season record.
