St. Monica Mariners (Santa Monica, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Firebaugh Falcons (Lynwood, CA), 20-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Mariners now own a 3-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Santa Monica for a non-league challenge on Monday, March 18. St. Monica will battle a Vikings squad coming off a 2-1 non-league win over Banning (Wilmington, CA). The Vikings record now stands at 7-6.

With the loss, Firebaugh falls to 0-5 on the campaign. The Falcons host Paramount (Paramount, CA) to battle the Pirates in a Mid-Cities challenge on Tuesday, March 19. The Pirates enter the challenge with a record of 4-7. Paramount won 1-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Kaiser (Fontana, CA)
