Pontotoc Warriors (Pontotoc, MS) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Houston Hilltoppers (Houston, MS), 7-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Warriors now own a 4-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Corinth for a 5A Region 1 challenge on Tuesday, March 19. Pontotoc will battle a Warriors squad coming off a 1-0 non-league win over Itawamba Agricultural (Fulton, MS). The Warriors record now stands at 8-3.

With the loss, Houston falls to 9-4 on the campaign. The Hilltoppers host Kosciusko (Kosciusko, MS) to battle the Whippets in a 4A Region 3 challenge on Tuesday, March 19. The Whippets enter the challenge with a record of 7-4.
