Tumwater Thunderbirds (Tumwater, WA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Mark Morris Monarchs (Longview, WA), 5-4 in a non-league challenge.
The Thunderbirds now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Prairie for a non-league challenge on Monday, March 18. Tumwater will battle a Falcons squad coming off a 13-8 non-league win over Camas (Camas, WA). The Falcons record now stands at 2-1.
With the loss, Mark Morris falls to 1-1 on the campaign. The Monarchs travel to Washougal (Washougal, WA) to battle the Panthers in a 2A Greater St. Helens challenge on Monday, March 18. The Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 0-0.
