Pearl River Central Blue Devils (Carriere, MS) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Stone Tomcats (Wiggins, MS), 7-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Blue Devils now own a 5-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Hattiesburg for a 6A Region 3 challenge on Tuesday, March 19.

With the loss, Stone falls to 7-6 on the campaign. The Tomcats travel to West Lauderdale (Collinsville, MS) to battle the Knights in a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 16. The Knights enter the challenge with a record of 11-2. West Lauderdale won 13-4 in their recent non-league challenge against Smithville (Smithville, MS)
