Spectators at Thursday's non-league match between the Van Vandals (Van, TX) and the host Spring Hill Panthers (Longview, TX), witnessed Van's softball squad tip Spring Hill by a count of 4-3.

The Vandals now sport a 19-2 record. They play next when they host Brownsboro for a 4A Region II District 16 match on Friday, March 15. Van will face a Bears squad coming off a 7-3 non-league loss to Jacksonville (Jacksonville, TX). The Bears record now stands at 3-12.

With the loss, Spring Hill moves to 2-21 on the season. The Panthers host Gilmer (Gilmer, TX) to face the Buckeyes in a 4A Region III District 17 match on Tuesday, March 19. The Buckeyes go into the match with a record of 7-9.
