Tennessee High School Baseball - Mitchell holds off Johnson County

March 14, 2025: Mountain City, TN 37683

The Mitchell Mountaineers baseball team scored 8 runs and held the host Johnson County Longhorns to 4 in the Mountaineers non-league win on Friday.

The Mountaineers now own a 3-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Rosman for a Western Highlands 1A/2A test on Tuesday, March 18. Mitchell will play a Tigers team coming off a 15-2 league loss to Draughn (Valdese, NC). The Tigers record now stands at 3-6.

With the defeat, Johnson County drops to 3-4 on the year. The Longhorns travel to University School (Johnson City, TN) to play the Buccaneers in a non-league test on Saturday, March 15. The Buccaneers go into the test with a record of 1-1.
