North Carolina High School Softball - Mitchell bounces University School

March 14, 2025: Bakersville, NC 28705

The Mitchell Mountaineers softball team scored 7 runs and held the visiting University School Buccaneers to 3 in the Mountaineers non-league win on Friday.

The Mountaineers now possess a 3-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Rosman for a Western Highlands 1A/2A battle on Tuesday, March 18. Mitchell will confront a Tigers team coming off a 8-2 league loss to Draughn (Valdese, NC). The Tigers record now stands at 1-5.

With the loss, University School moves to 0-3 on the season. The Buccaneers travel to Cherokee (Rogersville, TN) to confront the Chiefs in a non-league battle on Monday, March 17. The Chiefs come into the battle with a record of 1-5. Cherokee lost 2-0 in their recent non-league battle against Jefferson County (Dandridge, TN)
