The South Caldwell Spartans (Hudson, NC) softball nipped the visiting Oak Grove Grizzlies (Winston-Salem, NC), 1-0 in Friday's non-league outing.

The Spartans now sport a 8-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host Watauga for a Northwestern 3A/4A outing on Tuesday, March 18. South Caldwell will encounter a Pioneers team coming off a 10-0 non-league loss to Forbush (East Bend, NC). The Pioneers record now stands at 2-3.

With the loss, Oak Grove moves to 2-5 on the season. The Grizzlies travel to Asheboro (Asheboro, NC) to encounter the Blue Comets in a Mid-Piedmont 3A outing on Tuesday, March 18. The Blue Comets come into the outing with a record of 3-4. Asheboro lost 31-28 in their recent non-league outing against Dudley (Greensboro, NC)
