California High School Baseball - Salinas defeats Downey

March 14, 2026: Modesto, CA 95355

In Saturday's non-league game, the visiting Salinas Cowboys baseball team scored a close 6-1 win over the Downey Knights.

The Cowboys (4-4) will now prepare for their game against Soledad (Soledad, CA). The Aztecs go into the PCAL - Gabilan game with a 3-2 record. In their last game, Soledad was overwhelmed by Hollister (Hollister, CA), 13-4, in a league game.

In their next game, the Knights battle the Ripon Indians (Ripon, CA) in a non-league match, on Tuesday, March 17. Downey will attempt to advance on its 2-6 season record. The Indians come into the match with a 6-4 record after their 3-2 league win over Hughson (Hughson, CA).
