New Mexico High School Softball - Sandia sneaks past Silver

March 14, 2026: Albuquerque, NM 87110

The Sandia Matadors softball team scored 8 runs and held the visiting Silver Fighting Colts to 7 in the Matadors non-league win on Saturday.

The Matadors now sport a 3-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Los Alamos for a non-league battle on Wednesday, March 18. Sandia will confront a Hilltoppers team coming off a 24-2 non-league win over East Mountain (Sandia Park, NM). The Hilltoppers record now stands at 3-1.

With the loss, Silver moves to 4-5 on the campaign. The Fighting colts travel to Piedra Vista (Farmington, NM) to meet the Panthers in a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 19. The Panthers go into the challenge with a record of 6-4. Piedra Vista lost 10-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Canyon del Oro (Tucson, AZ)
