Eagle Mustangs (Eagle, ID) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Vallivue Falcons (Caldwell, ID), 9-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Mustangs now own a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Timberline for a 5A Southern Idaho challenge on Thursday, March 17. Eagle will face a Wolves squad coming off a 7-5 league win over Owyhee (Meridian, ID). The Wolves record now stands at 2-0.

With the loss, Vallivue falls to 2-1 on the campaign. The Falcons travel to Emmett (Emmett, ID) to face the Huskies in a 4A Southern Idaho challenge on Wednesday, March 16. The Huskies enter the challenge with a record of 1-1. Emmett won 10-8 in their recent non-league challenge against Weiser (Weiser, ID)
