Hayward Farmers (Hayward, CA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Redwood Christian Eagles (San Lorenzo, CA), 6-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Farmers now sport a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to San Lorenzo for a West Alameda County-Shoreline challenge on Monday, March 21. Hayward will face a Grizzlies squad coming off a 18-0 non-league loss to Skyline (Oakland, CA). The Grizzlies record now stands at 0-4.

With the loss, Redwood Christian falls to 4-2 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Encinal (Alameda, CA) to face the Jets in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, March 16. The Jets enter the challenge with a record of 2-1. Encinal won 13-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Campolindo (Moraga, CA)
