The Newman Central Catholic Comets the host Polo Marcos softball squad by a final score of 4-0 in Tuesday's non-league battle.
The Comets (1-0) will now prepare for their battle against West Carroll (Savanna, IL). The Thunder go into the non-league battle with a 0-1 record. In their last battle, West Carroll was routed by Riverdale (Port Byron, IL), 13-1, in a non-league battle.
The Marcos now possess a 0-1 record. They play next when they host Galena for a non-league battle on Thursday, March 17. Polo will confront a Pirates squad coming off a 13-1 non-league win over Milledgeville (Milledgeville, IL). The Pirates record now stands at 1-0.
