Bunkie Panthers (Bunkie, LA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Lafayette Christian Academy Knights (Lafayette, LA), 17-9 in a non-league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 8-8 record. They take the field next when they host Caldwell Parish for a 3A District 2 challenge on Tuesday, March 19. Bunkie will battle a Spartans squad coming off a 15-7 non-league win over Ouachita Parish (Monroe, LA). The Spartans record now stands at 10-8.

With the loss, Lafayette Christian Academy falls to 7-8 on the campaign. The Knights travel to Northside Christian (Crowley, LA) to battle the Warriors in a non-league challenge on Monday, March 18. The Warriors enter the challenge with a record of 3-5. Northside Christian won 13-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Midland (Midland, LA)
