The Santiam Wolverines got by the visiting Jefferson Lions softball squad by a count of 8-7 in Friday's league battle.
The Wolverines (2-1) will now prepare for their battle against Nestucca (Cloverdale, OR). The Bobcats go into the non-league battle with a 1-1 record. In their last battle, Nestucca was edged by Amity (Amity, OR), 5-4, in a non-league battle.
The Lions now sport a 0-1 record. They play next when they host Colton for a non-league battle on Monday, March 18. Jefferson will meet a Vikings squad coming off a 12-2 non-league loss to Neah-Kah-Nie (Rockaway Beach, OR). The Vikings record now stands at 0-3.
