St. Edmund Fighting Blue Jays (Eunice, LA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Westminster Academy Crusaders (Opelousas, LA), 11-1 in a league challenge.

The Fighting Blue Jays now own a 8-4 record. They take the field next when they host Eunice for a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 16. St. Edmund will battle a Bobcats squad coming off a 11-1 league win over Leesville (Leesville, LA). The Bobcats record now stands at 12-5.

With the loss, Westminster Academy falls to 4-5 on the campaign. The Crusaders travel to Opelousas Catholic (Opelousas, LA) to battle the Vikings in a 1A District 6 challenge on Tuesday, March 19. The Vikings enter the challenge with a record of 14-5. Opelousas Catholic lost 10-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Kaplan (Kaplan, LA)
