In Saturday's non-league challenge, the visiting South Spartans volleyball team scored a close 2-1 triumph over the Gabrielino Eagles.

The Spartans (9-7) will now prepare for their challenge against Castaic (Castaic, CA). The Coyotes come into the non-league challenge with a 6-4 record. In their last challenge, Castaic edged San Fernando (San Fernando, CA), 3-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Eagles meet the El Monte Lions (El Monte, CA) in a Mission Valley challenge, on Monday, March 17. Gabrielino will attempt to upgrade on its 4-7 season record. The Lions come into the challenge with a 1-4 record after their 3-0 non-league loss to Covina (Covina, CA).
