Belvidere North Blue Thunder (Belvidere, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Hampshire Whip-Purs (Hampshire, IL), 4-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Blue Thunder now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Prairie Ridge for a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 17.

With the loss, Hampshire falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Whip-purs travel to Harvard (Harvard, IL) to battle the Hornets in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, March 23. The Hornets enter the challenge with a record of 0-1.
