North Carolina High School Softball - Holly Springs holds off Wakefield

Spectators at Wednesday's non-league match between the Holly Springs Golden Hawks (Holly Springs, NC) and the host Wakefield Wolverines (Raleigh, NC), witnessed Holly Springs's softball squad tip Wakefield by a count of 5-3.

The Golden Hawks now sport a 3-3 record. They play next when they travel to Apex Friendship for a Southwest Wake 4A match on Friday, March 18. Holly Springs will meet a Patriots squad coming off a 12-1 league win over Green Hope (Cary, NC). The Patriots record now stands at 3-0.

With the loss, Wakefield moves to 5-2 on the season. The Wolverines travel to Athens Drive (Raleigh, NC) to meet the Jaguars in a non-league match on Thursday, March 17. The Jaguars go into the match with a record of 1-4. Athens Drive lost 6-4 in their recent non-league match against Cary (Cary, NC)
